Banking, Postal Facilities, Currency
- Banks in Salzburg are usually open from 8:30 to 16:00 hours on weekdays and are closed on Saturday and Sunday. Currency exchange is possible at exchange offices at the airport, at the Central Station, and in most hotels. 1 Euro at present is equivalent to around 1.37 $. Cash money can be drawn from cash teller machines (in Austria referred to as Bankomat) at any time. Credit cards are widely accepted.
Post offices are open from 8:30 to 18:00 hours with a break at noon.
Shops and Restaurants
- There is quite an abundance of shops and restaurants. Respective guides can be found in hotels and information centers, but not at the registration desk of the conference. Credit cards are widely accepted but cash payment is more popular. Tipping is common in restaurants and cafes (in the order of 5 % of the total).
Coffee, Tea and Lunches for Participants
- Coffee and tea will be served during morning and afternoon breaks in front of the lecture theatres. No lunches will be offered by the organizers. There are numerous restaurants of all kind in the nearby area. A buffet will be offered on Sunday evening, and a conference dinner on Tuesday evening.
